One person has died on Wednesday morning, around 6 am, after the car he was driving hit the fence of the Russian Embassy and a fire broke out immediately, the Romanian police announced. The possibility of an accident is being considered, as well as an intentional act, given that a large fire broke out immediately after the gendarmes ordered the driver to get out of the car, according to G4Media sources.
According to G4Media information, the driver is Bogdan Drăghici, head of the TATA Association, accused of child molestation. He was under judicial control.
The driver died and firefighters had to be called in to put out the fire that broke out in the car.
Bogdan Drăgici was sentenced on Tuesday by the Sector 2 Court to 15 years and 4 months of imprisonment for rape and corruption of minors, according to G4Media sources. The sentence was not final and could have been appealed.
In his latest Facebook post, Bogdan Draghici wrote: „I’m Ukrainian too! It would be great to consider ourselves all Ukrainians, until the horrible war, which puts the whole of mankind in mortal danger, is finally over!”

Bogdan Drăghici was detained by prosecutors in August 2019 on charges of rape and sexual assault. He has been in custody for almost a year. Prosecutors accuse Bogdan Drăghici of sexually assaulting his minor daughter.
According to information posted on the court portal, Bogdan Drăghici’s wife applied for a protection order in July 2019 on behalf of a minor daughter against the father. The request was rejected by the 5th District Court, and the appeal is pending before the Bucharest Court.
