The government announced on Friday that more than 12,000 Romanian citizens have donated blood in the last five days, a significant part of which was made available for the rescue of Ukrainian citizens.
„Romanians donate blood for Ukrainian servicemen and civilians wounded in the military aggression! More than 12,000 Romanian citizens have donated blood in the past five days, a significant part of which has been made available for the rescue of Ukrainian citizens,” the Government announced, reports News.ro.
The campaign was launched on 27 February by Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă and several members of the cabinet who donated blood for the Ukrainian wounded.
„Thank you to the Romanians who opened their hearts and participated in this humanitarian campaign! The power of solidarity is an essential line of defence against any aggression. I am proud of the generosity and mobilization of Romanians who came to the aid of Ukrainians in distress. I call on all of us to continue our much-needed humanitarian actions for the Ukrainian people at this time”, said Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă.
