Governor of Herson suggests Russia could hit Moldova’s Giurgiulesti bridge over the Prut on the border with Romania / Chisinau authorities „strongly condemn” Vladimir Saldo’s statements
The Chisinau authorities condemn the statements of Herson Governor Vladimir Saldo, who suggested that the Russian army will strike the bridge at Giurgiulesti, reports Noi.md.
„The Republic of Moldova strongly condemns the recent statements made by a representative of the Russian Federation in Herson, a Ukrainian territory under Russian occupation, in which our country was directly threatened. Such statements are totally unacceptable. We will not tolerate such language directed against the Republic of Moldova. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration will urgently summon the head of the diplomatic mission of the Russian Federation in Moldova and ask for an appropriate explanation,” reads an official note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Chisinau.
Herson Governor Vladimir Saldo threatened that the Russian army would strike the bridge at Giurgiulesti in response to today’s Ukrainian attack on a bridge linking the Ukrainian region of Herson to Crimea. „The coordinates of the bridges in the Odessa region, in Giurgiulesti in Moldova, which was in the Ukrainian component, but was passed on the Danube by the Yushchenko regime, all these coordinates are known and soon there will be a quite serious response,” Saldo said.
It should be mentioned that according to Russian appointed officials in the Herson region and the Crimean peninsula this morning Ukrainians struck with missiles the Chongar bridge connecting the Russian controlled parts of the Herson region to the Crimean peninsula.
