Romanian-American collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence between Lockheed Martin and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca / Prime Minister Ciucă: „Our role in the Black Sea region is increasingly relevant”
A Romanian-American collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence, between Lockheed Martin and the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, was announced on Tuesday in a press release issued by the Romanian Government. Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă received, at the Victoria Palace, the Lockheed Martin delegation, led by the Vice President for International Affairs, Ray Piselli.
Romania’s Prime Minister welcomed the decision of the global aerospace and security company to start R&D activities in Romania:
- „This is further proof of the strengthening of the Romania-US Strategic Partnership. The government supports investment and the economic component strengthens our military partnership. I am glad that Romania can offer an integrated development framework, including industry, high technology, academia, and research, in an area of the future such as Artificial Intelligence. Industrial cooperation will create more value and can generate the technology transfer needed to develop our economy”, said Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă.
On the same occasion, the status of the implementation of the Lockheed Martin-led acquisition programs for both multirole aircraft and missile defense systems was reviewed, the release said.
- „We need credibility for the implementation of our armament projects. Our role in the Black Sea region is increasingly relevant and we need to ensure that we are ready to take it on. We continue, as the economic results confirm the pace of development, to pay the necessary attention to ensuring the security of our country, together with our strategic partners”, Prime Minister Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă said.
